The Danger of Independent Distributor Websites

But why are so many companies opposed to distributors having their own independent websites?

The problem is that some distributors who are marketing a health product will make claims that their products can cure or treat a disease.

Websites that do this are violating FDA compliance rules and with good reason, some companies either prohibit or require company approval of any website that markets their product.

There are some companies that aren’t health-related that still won’t allow distributors to have websites using their product or company name. I can only guess that it’s for legal reasons or perhaps they don’t want someone else’s homegrown website to outshine their big corporate one! I don’t really know. What I do know is that they are limiting their own company’s growth with this policy.

Even with all the rules you must follow to comply with company and government standards, you can still have an effective website that brings you customers and distributors no matter what your company’s product is or what their policy is towards the internet.

You can also use blogs and buzz marketing to build your customer base and attract the right business prospects.
