Internet and Network Marketing

Using the internet and network marketing together to build a successful home based business isn’t as hard as you might think.

These 2 business models have one very important feature in common.

In fact, the guiding principle behind doing business on the internet and having a successful downline in your network marketing company is the very same thing.

Relationships.

To be a success in both internet and network marketing, you must know how to build a relationship first.

Network marketing (also known as multi-level marketing) prides itself on using the one sure-fire way to advertise that never fails: word of mouth. You recommend a product to the people you know and they buy it based on their trust in your good judgment.

Internet marketing operates on the same principle only you are forming the relationship first and then making your recommendations based on the credibility you have built with the prospect.

When multi level marketing companies began training their recruits to market products the “old school” way, they asked them to make a list of everyone they knew; usually, it amounted to a list of their friends and family. Eventually, everyone runs out of friends and family.

So then where do you go for customers and recruits?

Some of the heavy hitters with money to spend would either buy leads or put an ad in the newspaper and get leads that way.

But what if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on getting leads?

In the old days, you would be sunk.

But now the internet has become an affordable and valuable tool that’s available for everyone to use, not just the heavy hitters.

With internet marketing, you target the group of people who are already interested in what you are recommending. You are not forcing your recommendation down the throats of unsuspecting friends and family members who are’nt interested in your product.

Once you find that group of people, you establish yourself as an expert in your field so that your product recommendation means something to your audience.

How do you do that?

Build a website where you can offer solutions to a common problem, one of which is your product!

Here’s an example: Recently I was chatting with a friend who’s trying to make the switch to recruiting associates for her company online. She recognizes that the market potential for her product line is much greater on the internet than the target market of people she runs into every day.

One of her products is a supplement that helps people manage their stress better. She knows what kinds of problems stress can cause and the unique benefits of using her product in solving that problem. So she becomes an expert in the subject of stress; what it is, what causes it, what exercises and foods will manage it. She also has come across a great supplement that anyone can use to help decrease the effects it has on their health.

People who’ve come to know her online as an expert on stress will act on her recommendation for that supplement just like they acted on her other suggestions for a better diet and exercise.

So which product line in your network marketing company do you feel you are an expert on? Build a blog or website based on that problem and offer your product as a solution.

But don’t be too quick to give away the name of the product or company. That’s the second step to using the internet and network marketing together to grow your business: Building Your List.
