Hosting and Internet Marketing Strategy

Hosting and internet marketing strategy means that you need to find a web hosting service to meet the needs of your site.

A web host provides room on their server to make your website accessible to the world. You also need a platform that allows you to install scripts for content management and forums. You should also look for one with SSL that provides security for online transactions. Most good web hosts will also provide email capability.

Web Hosting: Fee or Free?

The cost for web hosting ranges from free to hundreds of dollars a month. The free ones are pretty basic and won’t provide you with what you need for an ecommerce business. You'll most likely have to run other people's advertising on it in the form of banners.

You want to convey a professional business image to your web site visitors so the best strategy is to actually pay for a good web host. No need to go overboard and buy top of the line, though. Do your homework and get the best deal that you can.

The ones that cost hundreds of dollars are usually dedicated servers that only have one site on it.

You can opt for what most small to medium size online businesses use which will run you from $5 to $15 a month.

Make Money from Web Hosting

There are a three ways you can make money from web hosting and internet marketing strategy. First, you can become an affiliate of a web host provider. One that I like is Hostgator . They have minimum downtime and their customer service is superb.

While you're checking out their affiliate program, look into the second way to make money by becoming a reseller of web hosting. Most web host providers have reseller plans that costs a little bit more than getting a hosting account for one website. Look for a plan that gives you hosting for an unlimited number of domains for a set monthly fee. Hostgator's bottom level reseller plan is less than $30 at the time of this writing. Use your reseller account to build your own websites and sell web hosting to others.

The third way to make money with web hosting is through a multi-level marketing company that provides web hosting and a domain name for one year with your one-time life time membership fee. It’s worth checking out since many uplines in network marketing are encouraging their members to get leads with their own websites.

How I Decided My Own Hosting and Internet Marketing Strategy

When I was looking at web hosts, I looked at Yahoo, which at the time was about $25 a month. They provided everything needed to create and host a web site but I didn’t have any technical knowledge. It seemed to me that most of them were meant for techies.

I decided on Site Build It! because they provide everything you need and teach anyone how to create a web site as long as that person is willing to learn while doing. It’s a good value when you consider what's provided.

Another web host that is a very good deal and I've used in the past is Host Gator. They're "baby" hosting level is very affordable at $9.95 per month and offers unlimited site hosting and a site builder.

Your hosting and internet marketing strategy needs to include some type of tool to help you optimize your site for the search engines. This is a critical step because no matter how pretty your site looks, and no matter how compelling the content, if you don’t have visitors coming to your site, then you won’t last very long on the internet.
