Good Keywords

How to Choose the Best For Your Site

Choosing good keywords is essential to successful search engine optimization of your website. People enter keywords into search engines to find the information they are searching for on the web.

Your site will appear higher on the search engine's index if you find and use the right combination of keywords.

So that's the key to the best SEO. Finding the most searched keywords that people are typing into the search engines but also finding within that group the keywords that are under-served by websites.

The Best Keyword Equation

It comes down to a simple math equation: Demand versus Supply. A winning keyword would have a high demand (lots of people typing in that keyword when they search) with a low supply (websites having that keyword in it’s content).

Can you see where that would result in a high profit potential if you have high quality content using that keyword?

If you have the right combination of keywords that people are looking for but can only be found on a small percentage of sites, your site will eventually rise to the top.

Search engines reward sites with good keywords and great content a high place in their rankings. As a result, your site will accomplish what you want it to...generate sales, leads or both for your product or service.

Great Keywords + Great Content = Successful Website

Has this ever happened to you? You search for a keyword and the sites that pop up as number 1 and number 2 are nothing but a page of advertisements.

That's not happening as often as it used to because the search engines are able to spot good keyword-focused content pages. Now, most of the sites that pop up first will have great content. But there are times when you'll scroll down to the bottom of page 1 or the top of page 2 and you’ve got a similar problem. The sites only have a cursory mention of the keyword and nothing more. Or else they list one site more than once.

I’m sure the SE’s are developing their formulas and we’ll probably see more sites with good keywords that better serve the visitor's search queries.

But as you build your site's search engine optimization plan, your focus needs to be on choosing the best keywords and keyword phrases and writing great, informative, content using those keywords.

Your page will eventually rise to the top as you promote it and that translates to an income-producing keyword-focused content page!
